South East Supported Housing Month was a huge success, showcasing the work housing
associations, local authorities and service providers who support over 136,000 vulnerable people in the region.
Between 16 November and 11 December 2009 service providers joined forces and organised almost 110 events to showcase the sector to key stakeholders and service providers.
There are more than 2,700 Supported Housing and Floating Support Services in the south east, helping people to achieve their potential and enjoy independent and fulfilled lives. With the ending of the ring-fence and moving of support service commissioning into other local authority departments it is more important than ever that Supported Housing and Floating Support service providers shout out about what their services achieve and this is the opportunity to do just that. South East Supported Housing Month provided the opportunity to do just that.
We hope to complete a full review of South East Supported Housing Month early in 2010.
