Supply Conversation: Securing the skills the sector needs to build more homes

This roundtable event is one of three designed to take forward the findings of the Supply Conversation. This session will discuss what we can do as a sector to ensure we can retain and recruit talented development staff.

Throughout our Supply Conversation, members told us that securing the skills and experience needed in development teams to build many more homes was a key challenge for the sector.

This half-day session will bring together housing association leaders from across the country to explore that challenge in more detail and ask what we can do as a sector to ensure we have the skills we need to build more homes.

The agenda will cover:

  • examples of best practice, innovation and collaboration in skills development from around the country
  • how the sector can recruit, train and retain talented development staff 
  • how we can develop new sector-wide initiatives to develop skills – what could we learn from other sectors?
