For those involved in social housing maintenance and asset management, South West HAMMAR is the forum for sharing information, improving knowledge and communicating with like-minded people in this sector.
Following a very well received session at the June seminar, on the Government consultation on proposals for the new system of building regulations, Amy Simmons and Tommy Collins from our Policy team are back to give an update on the Government’s response to the consultation and also hope to be in a position to brief you on the latest on the Decent Home Standards and Quality of Existing Homes. Please do bear in mind that this is pending the release of the Government’s response to the Social Housing Green Paper.
We are delighted to have Paul Isherwood, the Director of Asset Management at the Northern Ireland Housing Executive flying in from Belfast to talk about the findings of the large research project on cavity wall insulation, carried out by the BBA CIT team on behalf of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. This is one of the UKs largest research project in this area and the findings will be of some interest to the HAMMAR members.
We have also invited Rollalong to speak, who are specialist in Permanent Offsite Construction to talk about the maintenance of offsite manufactured homes, looking at the detail of construction and how to maintain modular buildings.
We hope to include an interesting 'behind the scenes' tour at the M Shed.
