What else can I do

There are five other actions to help the campaign – simple activities that every housing association should be able to do now.

Show your support

Show your support with the Homes for Britain campaign badge.

Add the badge to your website, your publications – and anywhere else you can think of to raise the profile of the campaign.

Please let us know when you've done this and share any creative ideas you've had.

Party leaders

Take a photo of yourself or your colleagues with the Homes for Britain campaign message ‘End the housing crisis within a generation’ and tweet it to the political party leaders and any other key politicians.

You can make your own sign or you can print one we've prepared. We’ve also provided Twitter handles and tips for using social media for campaigning.

Use #homesforbritain in your tweets so we can see when you’ve done this.

Your community

Encourage your residents to sign up to Yes to Homes, the campaign that connects communities with their local politicians to highlight the need for more homes. You could ask maintenance staff to leave information with customers, drop off leaflets or put up posters in residential blocks.

There are sample leaflets and posters, and information about Yes to Homes that you can use.

Drop us an email to let us know what you have done.

Local politicians

Take the campaign message directly to politicians. Arrange meetings with your current MP and candidates, write to them or invite them to see your work.

Be positive about the sector and other housing associations when you meet with politicians.

We've produced advice on how to engage with candidates and a briefing you can give to them. Tell us about any meetings you've arranged.

Your organisation

Tell your staff about the Homes for Britain campaign. Harness their enthusiasm for housing and encourage them to come up with their own ideas for how they can take part in each of the campaign milestones.

To make it easy for you, we’ve put together example text and suggestions of how they can get involved.

We want to hear your organisation's ideas for the campaign, so please let us know.

And don't forget to nominate a campaign champion who we can stay in touch with about the campaign.

We've put together a campaign toolkit with a range of resources to make it easy for you to take part.
