Universal Support will be delivered by Citizens Advice from next year.
12 October 2018
The Government has announced that Citizens Advice will deliver Universal Support across the country from next year, with funding from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
The DWP has written to local authorities advising them that, as of April 2019, they will no longer be expected to deliver Universal Support.
The Government has said that it wants to see a more consistent delivery of Universal Support across the country to help people make and manage Universal Credit claims.
The Federation will work with the DWP and Citizens Advice to clarify new referral processes and local arrangements for delivery.
