Forbes Solicitors are able to offer National Housing Federation members a complete housing service that incorporates frontline consultancy underpinned by litigation and wider legal reassurance. Our innovative approach enables us to support our clients throughout every stage of the case management process to achieve positive outcomes whilst freeing up capacity within teams, avoiding unnecessary costs and maintaining compliance and assurance.
Partnership working is a key area of our service. We act on behalf of housing providers throughout the UK to develop effective links with statutory bodies such as police, fire and health at both an operational and strategic level to tackle antisocial behaviour / breaches of tenancy as well as sharing information to raise awareness of safeguarding, mental health, hoarding, hate crimes and domestic abuse within our communities.
We lead on preventative, early intervention projects in conjunction with residents and other agencies (including the third sector) to resolve cases in a proactive, practical way, with our team on hand for robust enforcement action including possession proceedings and civil injunctions if required.
Our approach to training is based on a ‘three strand approach’ of legal advice, housing management and community safety and inter-related specialisms that sit outside of the social housing sector. This can include one-to-one mentoring, legal surgeries, workshops, regional seminars and conference-style events. Discounted rates and opportunities for free training will be available to National Housing Federation members.
Whilst housing management is central to what we do, we bring added value to our clients by enlisting the expertise of other specialisms within the firm, including governance, regulatory and family law, to offer different perspectives and create new options for best practice.
We regularly carry out internal audits and service reviews on behalf of clients to give an independent analysis on service delivery. These can either be ‘light touch’ within a condensed timeframe or a full detailed assessment covering everything from supporting vulnerable victims and stakeholder consultation through to recording case management data and policy development.
