In response to the Labour Party's proposal to increase funding for smaller housing associations and community organisations, David Orr, Chief Executive of the National Housing Federation, said:
“Smaller housing associations and community organisations have a huge role to play in ending the housing crisis. The Labour Party is right to recognise the valuable contribution they can make.
“We know that we need to be building 340,000 homes every year to meet the shortfall in England alone, including at least 90,000 for social rent. This means that every part of the sector needs to get the support it needs to deliver more – funding for small housing associations is a major part of this.”
