Rent freedom consultation responses

We’ve put together a summary of your responses to our consultation on the future of housing association rents.

75 members responded to our consultation.  The majority of respondents support the principle of rent freedom with respondents agreeing that the key drivers of future rent policy should be control, fairness for tenants and transparency.

There is considerable variation over some of the more detailed issues around rent freedom and how the longer term objectives might best be reached.

As there is still lots of work to do to find a policy solution that works for the whole sector we are setting up a task and finish group and will continue to work with all members to further develop a proposal for housing association rents.
