Staff groups

We have two groups created by staff and led by staff. The purpose of these groups and further details are outlined below.

Equality, diversity and inclusion group

The equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) staff group is available for all staff to join and its key purpose is to challenge the ‘status quo’ and to ensure we are delivering the objectives of our EDI strategy.

The group meets every six weeks and our meetings are chaired by the EDI staff group chair. The meetings involve discussions, and action points about what we can do to increase our workforce diversity profile and ensure EDI is embedded in everything that we do. Staff also share their inclusive, mental health and wellbeing experiences.

The group also discuss and agree how we celebrate and acknowledge cultural and wellbeing events such as Black History Month, Pride Month, and key mental health awareness days.

Our EDI and wellbeing champions also attend the EDI staff group meetings to share their experiences and provide updates about ongoing and new events.

Great Workplace Group

The Great Workplace Group (GWG) was originally created as a staff consultation body prior to the NHF entering into a recognition agreement with Unite Union. The group is made up of representatives from each directorate and meet every two months.

Meetings are centered around discussions on how we can make the NHF an even better place to work and an employer of choice. Details of the GWG and directorate representatives are available on our staff intranet.
