About the North regions

The National Housing Federation in the North covers:

• the North East

• the North West

• and Yorkshire and Humberside.

There are around 360 housing associations operating across the North of England. Together they own over 720,000 homes for around 1.5 million.

The Federation in the North, in addition to being a resource, is an information and support framework for our member and partner organisations. We also encourage innovation and good practice. The activities of the North team include:

• representing the views of member organisations
• representing our members’ interest to local and regional government and other statutory bodies
• giving a regional perspective to national policy work
• facilitating member discussion groups
• raising the profile of the work of the sector
• campaigning for investment in affordable housing
• holding events and conferences
• producing a range of publications.
