In December 2011 the Federation submitted its response to the
detailed proposals and draft regulations for the Community
Infrastructure Levy.
The Federation supports proposals that make the planning system
quicker, fairer and more efficient. The Community Infrastructure
Levy has the capacity to help streamline the planning system and to
provide additional certainty about the costs of development.
However, the Federation's support is conditional upon CIL being
designed and operated in a way that does not prejudice the delivery
of affordable housing. Our responses to the questions reflect
this overriding objective.
