We’re working hard to provide an excellent service to our members and stakeholders – here are some of our recent achievements.
We’ve developed our board member offer with a quarterly newsletter, a new virtual National Board Member Network, and programme of conferences and webinars.
For smaller housing associations, we published a new development guide and convened our national group to explore new ways we can provide support.
And we continue to advocate for our rural members, including celebrating the contribution of rural housing associations during 2021 Rural Housing Week.
Our free member events and webinars focus on the issues that matter most to housing associations.
In 2020, we adapted quickly to the lockdown and moved all our events online to ensure that our members could still come together to discuss and share experiences on topics such as building safety, coronavirus, climate change and the Social Housing White Paper. We maintained our regional leaders’ forums, providing opportunities for chief executives and other senior leaders to network with peers in their region.
Our award-winning national conferences also adapted into #NHFVirtual. These virtual events included our usual high standard of speakers, interactive roundtables, and expert case studies – and brought together our members in higher numbers than ever before.
We share the latest updates from the sector in our fortnightly newsletter, NHF News, which includes the latest updates, blogs, and events.
We also publish a range of thematic newsletters and updates, including our finance policy newsletter, board bulletin, supported housing newsletter, and welfare reform update.
Our Research team has also created a range of bespoke high-quality research tools – from a comprehensive database of housing and related figures to a calculator that shows housing associations’ contribution to the productivity of local areas.
Our commercial team negotiates preferential terms and conditions with key partners to help you save money so that you can use your resources as efficiently as possible to deliver on your social mission. We receive a commission from our Preferred Suppliers and we invest all this back into our work to support housing associations and their communities.
This work includes special rates for our members on services including, pensions advice, tenant insurance, IT, and drone surveying of building – from providers such as ISIO, Phoenix Software MRI, My Home Contents Insurance, and Vantage UAV.
