Creating strong partnerships: health and housing

2:00pm - 4:00pm, 24 January 2019
Queens Court Hotel, Bystock Terrace, Exeter, Devon, EX4 4HY

The National Housing Federation is hosting a health and housing meeting aimed at giving members the tools and knowledge to engage with health partners.

Strong partnerships ensure that housing and health can effectively deliver positive outcomes for the public purse and for the people and communities who benefit from their services.

Housing associations support the country’s health and social care needs more broadly by helping people with physical and mental health needs to benefit from their specialist adapted homes and additional services, which enable them to live independent, healthy lives.

Increasingly, associations are delivering these services in partnership with other providers, including the NHS. By working together, we know we can deliver more.

The agenda includes:

  • experts NDTI, HACT and Public Health England talking about why joining up health and housing is so critical
  • examples from elsewhere to show how health and housing have integrated and collaborated successfully
  • lessons for Cornwall: Influencing health partners and working towards a Memorandum of Understanding
  • facilitated planning sessions and creating an engagement plan for your area
