At the National Housing Federation we have spent the past year talking to members about how we can build more homes and end the housing crisis.
Through the ‘Supply Conversation’, members told us that a lack of development skills was one of the barriers to building more homes.
In order to tackle this skills shortage, members suggested the formation of a development network for graduate/trainee/entry-level development professionals across the housing association sector, and we are now looking to scope out this idea.
This event will bring together development directors and managers who are leading existing programmes, along with graduates and trainees to discuss the potential for a new network and plan its launch.
Development directors and senior staff should attend if they want their organisation to play a leading role in developing a sector-wide offer for new development staff. Graduates, trainees and apprentices should join if they would like to help set up and lead a new national network with the support of the National Housing Federation.
The network will launch at the Federation’s National Development and Regeneration Conference in February 2020.
