The Federation is organising an introduction event, which is open to board members joining an organisation in the last 12 months.
The housing world can be a very complicated place, and the current environment is proving to be very challenging with high expectations from both the regulator and Government. It is important for board members to understand the environment their organisation is working in.
Here, the Regulator of Social Housing will discuss the operating environment and highlight key issues for housing associations in relation to development and regulation.
The Federation will outline its role and the challenges faced by housing associations regionally and nationally.
Finally, delegates will hear from an experienced East Midlands chair who will discuss the role and the key skills you will need to be a successful board member. There will be time for questions and discussion throughout the briefing, as well as a chance to meet other new board members and start developing your networks.
This event is best suited to newly appointed board members.
