The Federation is organising a briefing session for new and recently appointed board members, to give a broad understanding of the sector and their role as a board member.
The housing world can be a very complicated place, and the current environment is proving to be very challenging. It's important for board members to understand the environment their organisations are working in.
At this event, the Regulator of Social Housing will speak about the operating environment and highlight key issues for housing associations in relation to development and regulation. The Federation will outline its role and the regional and national challenges faced by housing associations.
Finally, delegates will hear from an experienced board member who will discuss what the role involves and the key skills you will need to be a successful board member. There will be ample time for questions and discussion throughout the briefing, as well as a chance to meet other new board members to start developing your networks.
