Future Bright is a skills and careers support programme run by the West of England Combined Authority for residents of South Gloucestershire Council, Bath and North East Somerset Council and Bristol City Council residents who are aged 19 and over, in work and receiving benefits or tax credits.
Future Bright offers free career coaching and support, plus a personal budget that can be used to fund training courses, equipment or whatever they may need to unblock their path and progress their career. Future Bright wants to engage with landlords in the West of England Combined Authority area to enhance the skills and training programmes already provided by housing providers and to help reach your residents to help develop their skills, increase their income and progress in their career.
West of England Mayor, Tim Bowles said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer flexible, tailored support to our local residents through Future Bright. It’s clear that this West of England programme is already making a big difference and is helping participants achieve their potential and build on strengths they have but were previously unaware of. The work participants have been doing, with the help and support of their coaches, means they are on the right path to securing a better future for themselves and their families.”
Future Bright are particularly keen to have more active engagement from frontline staff who would refer residents into Future Bright. To aid this, National Housing Federation and Future Bright will be hosting this event to talk about the opportunities Future Bright presents for residents and landlords, hearing from coaches and hearing from past participants how life changing the support from Future Bright has been.
This event is open to National Housing Federation members only.
