Twitter hints and tips

Check out our simple guide to tweeting confidently and effectively to show your support for Homes for Britain.

Dos and don’ts

  1. Keep it simple – with only 140 characters so focus on the main campaign message ‘End the housing crisis within a generation’.
  2. Don’t use too many hashtags. Use #homesforbritain and if you want to use another, try not to use more than two. It makes it harder to read and can lose the focus.
  3. Don’t worry about getting a professional looking picture, as people don’t expect this on social media. But do make sure it’s not blurry and aim to have people’s eye line about a third of the way down the picture.
  4. If you’re putting the twitter handle at the start of the tweet, make sure you also add a full stop prior to this. This makes sure that everyone can see this tweet.
