The Government has announced a pilot of the review recommendations and has published a consultation on the key fire safety guidance document.
19 July 2018
The Hackitt Review's pilot of key recommendations into building regulations and fire safety has been published, carried out in response to the Grenfell fire.
The Federation is working with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) on an early adopter scheme to test out these recommendations. MHCLG have asked L&Q and Salix to be the first two early adopters to test these recommendations, but we are in discussions about opportunities for more housing associations to become early adopters should they wish to do so and will keep members updated.
The Government has also launched a consultation on clarifying key fire safety guidance, Approved Document B. This consultation runs until 11 October and we will work closely with members to develop a sector response.
We’ll be in touch with members soon with more information. In the meantime, if you have any questions or are interested in being involved in the pilot, please get in touch.
