Homes England strategic partnerships with housing associations

Homes England has agreed the first wave of strategic partnerships to increase the building of affordable homes.

3 July 2018

Following the Government’s announcement last week about its investment in social housing, Homes England has confirmed details of its new strategic partnerships with eight housing associations.

Homes England will provide a funding package of just under £590m to support the strategic partnerships with:

  • emh group
  • Great Places
  • Home Group
  • Hyde
  • L&Q
  • Matrix Partnership
  • Places for People
  • Sovereign/Liverty.

The first wave of this new partnership approach will deliver approximately 14,000 additional affordable homes by March 2022. This includes building homes for social rent in high cost areas, defined as places where there is a difference of £50 more per week between average private sector rents and social sector rents.

The funding, alongside the ability to use it more flexibly, has enabled these strategic partners to commit to a significant increase in development.
