We want your views on beauty and design in the planning and development process for our submission to the Building Better, Building Beautiful Commission.
16 April 2019
The Government’s Building Better, Building Beautiful Commission is calling for submissions on beauty and design in the planning and development process. The Federation is considering a response and we would appreciate your views and relevant experience.
The Commission’s consultation poses seven questions about how ‘beauty’ and better design can be encouraged in new development. Helpfully, the focus is not simply on aesthetics but on gaining public support for development, and on sustainability and wellbeing. The questions lend themselves to input from those with practical experience of development, particularly across different areas and types of development.
We’re keen to have your input on the consultation questions – what works and why? Specific examples would be of particular interest.
If you’d like to share your thoughts, please contact Duncan Neish at the Federation.
