Some of our members will have been involved in existing Health, Care and Supported Housing RIGs across the country. These were postponed when lockdown was announced back in March.
We’re planning to reinstate these forums during July to coincide with the launch of our Homes at the Heart Campaign which includes care and supported housing as a central theme.
The meetings will provide a regional forum for discussion and sharing of best practice with peers on the issues and challenges facing care and supported housing providers. We will be able to support you with policy advice and a representative from MCHLG’s Supported Housing Team will also be providing an update.
One of the key aims of the meeting will be identify how we can better promote the sector and its social value and create a greater awareness of the specialist support our members deliver, something we’ll be focusing on during the Homes at Heart Campaign.
The information from these RIGs will help to inform our policy response to national government and key departments such as Public Health England, MCHLG and DHSC. It also means we can share, promote and develop a greater understanding of the essential work you are doing to support vulnerable residents across the country to live independently, improve their health and well-being and realise their full potential.
