Securing move-on accommodation for homeless people after coronavirus

17 April 2020

Since the coronavirus outbreak we have seen an unprecedented effort to move rough sleepers into safe accommodation. Many NHF members have been involved in that effort, both through providing accommodation and providing support to those people accommodated.

The government has pledged to end rough sleeping by 2024. It is now important that there is no return to the street for those accommodated after the coronavirus outbreak. Housing associations can be part of the resettlement effort too.

We are looking into what can be done to ensure appropriate, long-term move-on accommodation is available. If you are interested in getting involved in this work and would like to know more, please send us an email.
