Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund: update from the government about the next wave of funding (Wave 2.1)

21 July 2022

The Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund aims to upgrade a significant proportion of the social homes currently below Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) C up to that standard.

£800m has been committed as part of the 2021 Spending Review settlement. Wave 2.1 will allocate as much of this funding as possible to support the installation of energy performance measures in social homes in England. We expect the window for applications to open late August or early September 2022.

Unlike the last wave of funding, registered providers of social housing can apply directly. Non-registered providers who are ALMOs or registered with the charity commission can apply as part of a consortium led by a registered provider of social housing. We encourage you to start preparing and building partnerships now.
