Responding to Government data published today on the progress of post-Grenfell remedial works, Victoria Moffett, External Affairs Manager at the National Housing Federation says:
"Today’s data shows that 70% of social housing buildings now have contractors on site, and five more buildings compared to last month have completely removed and replaced their cladding. Other housing associations are working with experts on designing a remedial solution or securing building control sign off for planned works.
"The safety of tenants remains the number one priority for housing associations and they are doing everything in their power to remove cladding from buildings as quickly as possible. However, housing associations are taking necessary precautions to ensure replacement materials are safe, by testing their safety, and securing necessary sign off from building control - both of which require time to be accurate. In addition, they are experiencing some delays."
