A history of BME Housing in Britain (webinar)

BME housing associations play a crucial role in providing quality housing for tenants of all backgrounds, but their work goes far beyond housing and includes advocating for anti-racism and inclusion, acting as vehicles for neighbourhood regeneration and community cohesion.

BME housing associations are activist organisations, many of whom were created in response to the lack of quality housing available to black and minority ethnic (BME) communities in the 1980’s. In this webinar, we will learn about the history of BME housing associations, including the race riots and complex political challenges that these incredible organisations were created to address.
