Building safety for board members: latest updates and coronavirus response (webinar)

12 May 2020

Ensuring that people are safe in their homes is one of the most important roles of a housing association and its board.

Since the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower in 2017 there has been intense focus on building safety in the sector. Housing associations have been required to take remediating action as well as respond to new guidance and prepare for significant changes to the regulatory regime.

The coronavirus outbreak has presented challenges to carrying out this safety work and to ensuring essential safety checks take place.

This webinar which took place on 12 May 2020 provides crucial insight on current building safety issues including how housing associations are demonstrating compliance during the coronavirus outbreak, as well as updates from the government and the HSE.

Speakers:

  • Nick Abbey, Chair of Hundred Houses Society and Tower Hamlets Community Housing (Nick has since stood down as Chair and Sara Garnham is now Chair)
