Housing homeless families webinar

07 April 2022

The National Housing Federation (NHF) has contributed research to the growing body of knowledge on successful local authority and housing association partnership working to tackle homelessness. The research focuses on the policy, practice, and barriers and enablers to allocations of homes to households previously living in temporary accommodation.

We have found strong relationships and excellent partnership working across the country, with a real desire to end or prevent homelessness. This was set against a backdrop of reduced grant for new social rent housing, reduced funding for support, and welfare reform.

In this webinar Bekah Ryder, Research Lead at the NHF presents the findings from the Housing Homeless Families research report and its recommendations for local authorities and housing associations, the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). We also hear from a local authority and housing association working in partnership along with speakers from the DLUHC.

  • Chair - Suzannah Young, Policy Officer, NHF
