Implementing Residential PEEPs in the social housing sector

10 February 2026

This webinar, jointly hosted with the Local Government Association (LGA), focused on the implementation of residential personalised emergency evacuation plans (rPEEPs).

It offers an overview of the rPEEPs policy and details of the new government grant for social landlords. The webinar also looks at case studies from members already adapting their rPEEPs in response to the legislation.

Following the Grenfell Tower Inquiry Phase 1 recommendations, rPEEPs will become a legal requirement from 6 April 2026 for residents who may struggle to evacuate independently during a fire. The policy covers buildings over 18 metres/7 storeys, and buildings over 11 metres with a simultaneous evacuation strategy in place. To support the implementation of rPEEPs, the government has launched a funding programme to help social landlords make necessary safety adaptations.
