Industry and Regulators Committee inquiry into Building Safety Regulator

06 October 2025

In July, the House of Lords Industry and Regulators Committee launched an inquiry into building safety regulation, with a particular focus on the work of the Building Safety Regulator.

We put together a briefing on the inquiry which members can access below. Members can now also access our full response to the inquiry on behalf of the sector. Our response outlined that members support the aims of the Building Safety Regulator, but highlighted concerns about how the framework is currently working. The response explained how issues such as long delays, lack of clear guidance, and inconsistent decision-making are delaying vital safety works.

The safety of residents is the sector’s number one priority, and we are committed to working with government and the Building Safety Regulator to create the best possible regulatory regime for high rise residential buildings.

If you have any questions about the briefing, response or our wider building safety work, please get in touch.
