Devolution hub

Housing associations are perfectly placed to work with their local authority partners to help negotiate and deliver devolution deals in their communities, ensuring the best housing solutions.

In September 2017, we published our devolution offer to reflect the importance of devolution for housing associations, and set out how we can help them to rise to the challenges and opportunities it presents. We promise to help housing associations influence devolution to create the best possible environment for social housing and your customers. We think this work falls broadly into three areas:

  1. From mayors to NHS trusts, we know our stakeholders want to have one strategic devolution conversation with our sector so we’ll help you to collaborate and speak with one voice locally.
  1. We will provide you with key research, policy insight and evidence to describe your economic impact and social value. We’ll work with you to co-create new policy ideas and contribute to strategic policy debates about how we’ll end the housing crisis through devolution.
  1. We’ll help you to strengthen your links with politicians, key officers and the media to build the right relationships. These relationships are crucial if you are to position housing associations as strategic partners and to secure the policy changes you need locally.

This new Devolution Hub is at the heart of how we will deliver our promises. Sitting alongside the support provided locally by External Affairs Managers, this will be the one stop shop for all your housing and devolution needs.
