What is Homes at the Heart?

Our homes have never been more important to us than during the coronavirus crisis. For some people, home has been a sanctuary. For others, it has been a prison. Everyone deserves a safe, secure, comfortable place to call home. Not just now, in the middle of this crisis, but always.

Investing in social housing makes this possible. It will also boost the economy, create jobs and improve people’s lives when our nation needs it most.

That’s why we launched Homes at the Heart, a national campaign and coalition calling for a once-in-a-generation investment in social housing.

Thank you for all your support during our six themed weeks of action.

Spending Review

The NHF submission to the upcoming Spending Review outlines the key role housing associations can play in economic recovery – and the type of funding we need from the government to help us achieve more.

Thanks to funding from the Nationwide Foundation, we're currently running an advertising programme across national and local print media, as well as digital platforms and social media, to increase the reach of our campaign messaging.

And ahead of the Spending Review announcement, we’re planning a day of action where we can come together on social media to highlight the difference social housing can make to people and communities across the country, and galvanise our calls for a once-in-a-generation investment. More information on this will soon, including a shareable graphic to use on social media.
