This group brings together people from across the country who have an interest in improving housing and services for refugees, asylum seekers and migrants.
The forum covers topics such as modern-day slavery, trafficking, county lines and cuckooing – all highly relevant topics for everyone in the housing association sector.
Our refugee and migrant network, chaired by Sir Peter Fahy (chair of Plus Dane Housing), is designed for all social housing providers, not just those already working on specialist projects, to encourage improved access in communities and to learn about what is happening nationally. Knowing who is living in our properties and what they are being used for is crucial and the forum works to pool national intelligence and awareness to improve our response to this growing issue.
Our next event is on Wednesday 14 November at the National Housing Federation office in Bristol from 10.00am-4.00pm, organised by Ashley Community Housing.
The events are held quarterly at different locations around the country and we are always looking for members to host and present innovative and new ways of working.
