Help us amplify our message of putting homes at the heart of our future

Kate Henderson, 05 November 2020

In June, we launched Homes at the Heart, a national campaign and coalition calling for homes to be at the heart of the nation’s recovery. Since then, supporters from within our sector and beyond have united around our key ask for a once-in-a-generation investment in social housing.

When we launched the campaign, we wanted to show the vital role that social housing providers had already been playing in the nation’s response to coronavirus, and that with the right investment, they could achieve much more.

Hundreds of organisations across the country have backed the campaign and took part in six themed weeks of action that have shown how investing in social housing boosts the economy, creates jobs and improves people’s lives when our nation needs it most. Many thanks to everyone who has supported Homes at the Heart and helped us to get our voice heard.

Through Twitter alone, we’ve reached 6.8 million people – and our widespread media coverage has meant that many more will have heard our message. We’ve received a lot of political backing too, with MPs from across the political spectrum and the country showing their support for the campaign.

Now, in the lead-up to the Chancellor’s one-year Spending Review announcement on 25 November, we’re calling for all housing associations and Homes at the Heart campaign supporters to make the case once more for investment in social housing.

We want to create as powerful an impact as we can, so we’ve designed a campaign graphic that we want everyone to share on social media at the same time on the same day. At exactly 10am on Tuesday 10 November, we want the whole of the housing sector and beyond to share the graphic on social media to push our simple message of putting homes at the heart of our future.

We need this message to really hit home - and the more organisations and people who get involved, the bigger the impact will be. So please encourage all of your staff, board members and stakeholders and friends to get involved and help us boost our campaign message.
