Minister for Veteran Affairs pledges to end veteran homelessness

21 December 2022

The Office for Veterans Affairs has announced £8.55m of funding over two years to fund more than 900 veteran supported housing units. The units will specialist help for former armed forces personnel.

The funding will also allow for the establishment of a new referral scheme, called Op FORTITUDE, that will enable veterans at risk of homelessness to access supported housing and wrap-around specialist support. The government has pledged in the Veterans’ Strategy Action Plan 2022-24 to end veteran rough sleeping within this parliament and hopes to achieve that with this funding.

More details on how to bid for the funding will be available in the new year.
