Draft Building Safety Bill – HCLG committee submission

We made a submission to the Housing, Communities and Local Government Select Committee on 14 September as part of the committee's pre-legislative scrutiny of the draft Building Safety Bill. 

In our submission, we respond to a number of the committee's inquiry questions, as well as calling for greater clarity on: 

  • Timescales. 
  • Specific elements of the draft Bill, where further detail is needed. 
  • Appropriate powers of access to carry out safety inspections and works.
