Infrastructure Levy briefing webinar

12 May 2023

Last year the government announced details of a new Infrastructure Levy as part of the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill. The Levy is the government’s proposed new way of calculating developer contributions towards affordable housing and infrastructure, and will look to replace current arrangements under Section 106 and the Community Infrastructure Levy.

The government believes the Levy will streamline the process of securing the infrastructure needed alongside new developments as well as making it mandatory and locally-set.

The National Housing Federation is clear that the government must ensure any new system delivers much needed affordable housing across the country, not just in areas where land values are high. We have worked with members to lobby the government since the Infrastructure Levy was first proposed and are currently preparing a response to the consultation.

We have published a briefing with details on the policies proposed under the new Levy, what these might mean for housing associations, and outlines our next steps.

This webinar is an opportunity to hear from the DLHUC team working on the regulations and better understand the policies proposed under the new Infrastructure Levy.
