Our board member network provides an opportunity for board members to come together from across the country and discuss sector-wide strategic issues. This includes updates on the NHF’s political engagement work and insight from our Leadership Team.
At Julys board members network, we heard from Lucy Grove, Head of External Affairs, about the NHF's recently launched report Why we need a long-term plan for housing which marks the beginning of our general election engagement. Housing plays a critical role in a strong economy. Having good housing that people can afford close to work, education and local services acts as a springboard for communities. We will use this report over the next 18 months to influence political parties as we approach the next general election.
We were also joined by Kate Henderson, the CEO of the NHF, who gave an update on sector news and political engagement.
Homes England provided an update on their new Strategic plan for 2023 - 28 'to drive regeneration and housing delivery to create high-quality homes and thriving places. This will support greater social justice, the levelling up of communities across England and the creation of places people are proud to call home.'
