NHF Code of Conduct 2026

Following an extensive review involving members, residents and stakeholders, the new Code of Conduct 2026 reflects today’s expectations around behaviour, culture, accountability and resident involvement. It has been designed to help housing associations meet the requirements of the new Competence and Conduct Standard, including the expectation to have an appropriate code of conduct in place by October 2026.


During this session, we will:

  • Introduce the new Code of Conduct 2026 and the rationale for its review.
  • Highlight the key changes shaped by feedback from survey. respondents, residents, members and stakeholders.
  • Explain the five principles at the heart of the code.
  • Discuss how the code supports compliance with the Competence and Conduct Standard.
  • Share practical advice on adopting and adapting the code locally, including meaningful resident involvement.
