Exploring the link between supported housing and improved health and wellbeing

15 March 2022

Our Homelessness National Group and Health and Housing Group help shape our policy work around homelessness, supported housing and health.

With the support of the NHF, the two member groups are collaborating to commission external research into the impact of supported housing on homeless prevention and improving the health and wellbeing of customers.

The research is being jointly funded by the NHF and some of our members, including:

  • Riverside
  • Jigsaw Housing Group
  • Phoenix Futures
  • Tyne Housing
  • Raven Housing Trust
  • Regenda
  • Citizen
  • EMHA
  • Together Housing
  • Peabody
  • Home Group
  • Porchlight
  • One Housing Group

The resulting report will outline the social, economic and fiscal impact of housing associations’ supported housing models. It will aim to provide evidence for longer term sustainable funding for supported housing and also evidence for greater partnership working between housing and health, particularly in light of the recently launched Health Integration White Paper

We anticipate the research will commence in May 2022 following a tender process over the next few weeks. If you want to know more please get in touch with our team.
