The government has extended the deadline for claiming from the Building Safety Fund.
The announcement confirms that organisations applying to the Fund for the total cost of remediating their building, or claiming from the social sector grants process that would cover leaseholders’ share of the costs, can now do so up until 30 June 2021.
It also explains the following:
The NHF welcomes the government’s decision to extend deadlines for the Building Safety Fund, however, as the government will continue to allocate funding on a first come, first served basis, we encourage our members to make claims as timely as possible.
The government has also announced a £30m Waking Watch Relief Fund, aimed at helping to pay for alarm systems to save leaseholder costs in paying for interim waking watch measures. The Fund will open in January and we will share more information with you on the Fund in due course.
You can read more about the deadline extension and other information relevant to making a claim from the Building Safety Fund in this letter to the NHF from MHCLG.
We are also offering an opportunity to discuss the changes and the Building Safety Fund more generally with an MHCLG official, at 11am, Tuesday 22 December. If you would like to participate, please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.
