How housing associations can call for homes to be at the heart of the recovery

Our themed weeks of action will highlight why homes should be at the heart of recovery, and increase support for social housing from now until the government’s Comprehensive Spending Review in the autumn. They cover six themes and are designed so that you can pick all or some of the themes that most resonate with you but the theme for the week beginning Monday 3 August is homes at the heart of a stronger economy.

There are lots of ways you can support the campaign this week, from engaging with your local politicians and media to creating a splash on social media.

Build local political support

With the lockdown rules increasingly easing, politicians are eager to use this summer recess to meet with constituents and local organisations to hear of their experiences. This presents an opportunity to consider hosting a virtual or socially distanced visit of your schemes with politicians, so they can see first-hand the work and impact of housing associations locally.

  1. Invite politicians to a virtual or socially distanced visit of your schemes
  2. Encourage politicians to publicly support the campaign through a short video or photo
  3. Ask politicians to share our campaign graphics on social media
