Consultation on PAS 8673 framework for competence of Building Safety Managers: NHF response

We’ve responded to the draft Publicly Available Specification (PAS) 8673 prepared by the British Standards Institution. The draft PAS has been prepared in response to the enhanced role envisaged for Building Safety Managers in the Building Safety Bill.

It describes different levels of competence for classifying Building Safety Managers, depending on skills, knowledge, experience, and responsibility, and indicates the pathways between the levels. It shows how these levels relate to the competence necessary to manage buildings of different complexity and safety risks and also gives guidance on the assessment of individuals.
